Critical infrastructure, operated with discipline

Data centre facilities designed, built and operated to the highest standard.

Northgate Infrastructure delivers mission-critical environments for enterprises, operators and institutions, from the first site survey to round-the-clock operation.

We build and run the rooms the modern economy depends on.

Northgate Infrastructure is a specialist data centre company. Our work covers the complete life of a facility: site selection and design, electrical and mechanical build, network and compute deployment, and the long, careful work of keeping everything running without interruption.

We take a conservative view of risk. Every design is reviewed for single points of failure, every change follows a written procedure, and every system is monitored around the clock. Our clients include organisations for whom downtime is not an option.

What we do

Eight disciplines, delivered as one integrated practice. Engage us for a single phase or for the complete life-cycle of a facility.

  1. 01

    Infrastructure Design & Build

Site assessment, capacity planning, concept and detailed design, and construction management of new data halls and expansions to existing facilities.

  2. 02

    Power & Cooling Systems

Utility intake, switchgear, UPS and generator systems, PDUs and busway; chilled water, CRAC/CRAH units, free cooling and containment, all designed for N+1 or 2N resilience.

  3. 03

    Network & Connectivity

Structured cabling, fibre backbone, meet-me rooms, carrier-neutral interconnection and core, spine and leaf network architecture.

  4. 04

    Server & Storage Operations

Rack and stack, hardware life-cycle management, hypervisor and storage platforms, database hosting and capacity management.

  5. 05

    Monitoring & Maintenance

Continuous environmental and systems monitoring from a staffed operations centre, preventive maintenance programmes and documented change control.

  6. 06

    Security & Compliance

Physical access control, surveillance and mantraps; information security policy, audit support and alignment with ISO 27001 and sector regulation.

  7. 07

    Disaster Recovery & Backup

Secondary site strategy, replication and backup architecture, recovery runbooks and scheduled failover testing with measured RPO and RTO.

  8. 08

    Migration & Consulting

Facility audits, efficiency and PUE reviews, consolidation and relocation of live environments, and independent advice on cloud and hybrid strategy.

03

Designed to recognised standards

We design and operate against the frameworks our clients are audited on. Certification scope is agreed per facility and per engagement.

  • Tier III / IVUptime Institute topology, concurrently maintainable and fault tolerant designs
  • ISO 27001Information security management across facilities and operations
  • ISO 9001Quality management for design, build and service delivery
  • ISO 14001 & 50001Environmental and energy management, with PUE reporting
  • N+1 / 2NRedundant power and cooling paths as the default, not the option
  • EN 50600European data centre facilities and infrastructure standard

Inside our environments

Clean rooms, ordered cabling and documented systems. The condition of a data hall tells you how it is run.

How we work

A deliberate, documented process. Nothing is energised, connected or changed without a plan, a review and a record.

  1. I

    Assess

Site, load, risk and regulatory review. We define what the facility must do before deciding how it will be built.

  2. II

    Design

Topology, capacity and resilience are fixed on paper. Designs are peer-reviewed against the agreed tier and standards.

  3. III

    Build

Construction, fit-out and integrated systems testing, concluding with full-load commissioning before handover.

  4. IV

    Operate

Monitoring, maintenance, change control and reporting, carried out by the same team that commissioned the facility.
